This hand-held cutting tool is already become the most appreciated composite cutting tool all over the world. The new FP862MT cuts easily glass fiber, carbon fiber and kevlar up to a cutting thickness of 25mm. It weights only 1100 grams and the particular geometry between the knife and carbide counterblade combined with an innovative shape of the foot allow the cut of composite material with an extraordinary speed and precision. Especially the shape of the front peak allows the application of this cutting tool for edge trimming i.e. mould trimming. Furthermore, these particular building geometry avoid totally the trouble on winding for composite material such as the winding of the fiber behind the knife. Air compressed motor is wholly made by Rasor. thanks to the latest generation mechanical and pneumatic components, this excellent turbine reaches a power of 400W with 20,000 RPM and a very high torque. The diameter of motor is now of 40mm only, the smallest within its category. The rotor blade are made of VANESTAR material which reduce to the minimum the weight and the friction. The motor housing is now PTFE coated for heat reducing with an aggressive “look”. RPM is now 1400 for ultra fast cut. The push button sharpening stone allows the sharpening of the knife edge to be done in less than 10 seconds without removing the knife. The new fixed rear protection is now transparent plastic made to have more visibility during the cutting operations. Nowadays most of the producers/end users of composite material use normally model FP862MT for their cutting operations. Automotive, Shipbuilding and Aerospace Industry are the fields where this model FP862MT is mainly applied.
